President of Malaysian Hockey Confederation, Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal celebrating with Malaysian Tigresses after their memorable victory against Italy. |
True to their nickname, the tigresses stunned their opponents in the recent World Hockey League(WHL) Round 2 with their dazzling display. They beat the tournament's favorite, Italy, who is ranked 15th in the world in the semifinal by a shootout score of 2-1, after a deadlocked score of 2-2 in the full time.
This memorable win gave the tigress one of the two spots for the WHL semifinal and an opportunity to meet Ireland in the final, and avenge their 2-1 defeat in the Group match.
Malaysian Tigress went down gallantly in the final, losing 3-0.
The state of euphoria of qualifying for WHL semifinal could have affected the player's concentration in the final.
Anyway, the tigress has given birth to a new chapter for Malaysian women's hockey.
For the first time ever the Malaysian women hockey team has qualified for the semifinal of the World Hockey League, thus giving them an opportunity to play with the best teams in the world and a chance to qualify for the World Cup.
Journey to 2018, World Cup has begun for the Malaysian Tigress.
Congratulations to Coach Dharma and his support team for guiding the tigress to greater heights.
Remember," Seed of success lies in failure and seed of failure lies in success."
Look closely at all the steps taken or not taken to achieve this success, and the answer is there to take Malaysian Tigress to their first-ever World Cup appearance.
